The Harbour from Holton Heath

Poole Harbour is said to be the second largest natural harbour in the world. This national treasure provides access to some stunning countryside and woodland as well as providing wonderful views around the harbour itself. It is rich in wildlife and has attractive towns and villages set in some of the best walking areas in South West England. We wanted to provide easily recognized routes for walking and cycling around Poole Harbour by creating a new National Trail.

There are now 5 waymarked linear walks around the harbour, each described by a leaflet that can be bought from local tourist information offices or downloaded from the walks page of this web site. A sixth walk is needed to complete the Poole Harbour Trail. There are also another 13 circular walks highlighting some of the key points of the trail. These can also be found via our walks page.
