The Route

Poole is marked by the box on the South coast of the map

It is only two hours by train from London Waterloo to Poole on the South coast, marked by the box on this map of Great Britain and scaled up below.

The health and leisure industry is one of the fastest developing sectors in the UK and the numbers of cyclists and walkers is increasing. Given that access to new routes is always popular with these groups, the local economy is likely to reap considerable benefits from the Poole Harbour Trail.

It is possible to walk and cycle round the harbour at the moment, including one temporary walk, Walk 5b. We would hope to replace it with this one at some time in the future.

The end of Walk 4 and the start of Walk 5b takes you through Sandford. We think you will find the web site of Sandford Heritage interesting.

The walks that are available now are here and some cycling routes here.
