Poole Harbour Trails

Download for Walk 2

This walk is set to print as 2 A4 pages. If printed on two sides of one page, they form a leaflet that can be folded to pocket–size to take out on your walk.

On page 1 you will find information about getting to the walk start point, general information about walking and some snippets of historical information about Poole Harbour and the surrounding towns, villages and countryside.

On page 2 is a description of the walk and a map of the route.

Update to walk details

When we walked this route recently, we found one change to the directions given in our leaflet. We think you will get by with the instructions given, but if you have time before you set out, please note the following change to instruction 10, which directs you slightly to the right of our published route for a couple of hundred metres.

10. Continue until you see a gate ahead of you and a Private Fishing sign pointing left. Go through the hand gate and go straight up on to, and over, a mound. As you come down off the mound, you will see that you are coming to the end of some fish ponds on your left. Continue straight on across the field and then bear right towards the stream and Sharford Bridge.

DOWNLOAD PROBLEMS

Oh dear! Some of the users of this page have found difficulty in downloading our linear walks. This seems to be related to the reader used for .pdf files. If you are getting an error message instead of our walk leaflet there are several different things you could try.

If you get a download screen before the error message, try clicking Save instead of Open and then allow the file to be saved somewhere on your computer where you can find it again. The saved file should open perfectly.

The problem seems to be with Adobe Reader version 9. A further update of this software might fix the problem.

Another method, a bit more drastic, would be to download an alternative reader such as this Foxit viewer.

Or, contact us and we will send you copies of the walks you want.
